Nouvelle Vague will perform at the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds on March 18, 2027. The French musical project is known for its distinctive approach to performing post-punk, new wave, and pop songs from the 1980s. These tracks are reinterpreted with a primarily acoustic and bossa nova instrumentation, featuring female vocals and a minimalist arrangement often utilizing guitar, bass, drums, and piano. Formed in 2004, the group gained international recognition for its covers of bands like Joy Division, The Cure, and Depeche Mode.

The Howard Assembly Room is a restored music venue located within the Grade I listed Grand Theatre in Leeds. Originally built in 1906 as a temperance coffee house and assembly rooms attached to the theatre – intended as a social space separate from the bars of the time – it underwent significant refurbishment and reopened as a dedicated music venue in 2009. The space retains many of its original Edwardian features, including ornate plasterwork and stained glass, creating an intimate and atmospheric setting for performances. It is recognized for its high-quality acoustics and commitment to showcasing diverse musical genres.
