Originally a private residence designed in the Italian Renaissance Revival style by architects William Templeton Johnson and John Mason Parlin, it was gifted to the City of Fullerton in 1963 by Harold Muckenthaler, son of the original owners. The center now functions as a multidisciplinary arts complex offering exhibitions, performances, classes, and events. The estate includes the main house which hosts art exhibits & events, along with expansive gardens and outdoor spaces utilized for performances. It is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places for its architectural significance and contribution to the cultural landscape of Orange County.
