Experience New York Philharmonic live on July 9th
The New York Philharmonic will perform at Alice Tully Hall on July 9, 2026. The New York Philharmonic is internationally renowned for its interpretations of standard orchestral repertoire and commitment to contemporary music. Founded in 1842, the orchestra has a long history of commissioning works and premiering pieces by leading composers, evolving through various musical periods while maintaining a core dedication to artistic excellence. Its style encompasses a broad range, from the Romantic works of Mahler and Brahms to modern compositions demanding technical precision and innovative soundscapes.
Alice Tully Hall, located at Lincoln Center in New York City, opened in 1969. Designed by Pietro Bellushchi, the hall is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics and intimate setting – seating approximately 1,100 people. It was originally commissioned as a gift from Alice Tully, a prominent philanthropist and supporter of the arts, specifically intended to provide a dedicated chamber music venue. While hosting diverse performances including dance and film screenings, it remains a favored space for orchestral and recital performances due to its sonic qualities and relatively small scale compared to larger concert halls like David Geffen Hall (also part of Lincoln Center), the Philharmonic’s primary home.
