New Cool Collective will perform at Metropool, Hengelo on January 23, 2027. The band is a Dutch ensemble known for their distinctive blend of jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop influences, often described as ‘nu-jazz’. Formed in the early 1990s, they gained prominence for revitalizing instrumental jazz with a contemporary edge, incorporating elements of sampling and electronic production alongside traditional instrumentation. Their sound frequently features tight grooves, sophisticated arrangements and improvisation.

Metropool Hengelo is a well-established music venue located in the eastern Netherlands. Originally opened in 1992 as a pop podium (a venue dedicated to popular music), it has become a significant regional hub for both established and emerging artists across various genres including rock, pop, indie, and jazz. The venue is housed within a former textile factory building, retaining some industrial architectural features. It’s known for its intimate atmosphere and strong connection to the local cultural scene. Metropool regularly hosts around 150 events annually and has a capacity of approximately 750 people standing or 450 seated. It underwent renovations in 2018 to improve facilities and accessibility.
