New Cool Collective will perform at the Burgerweeshuistuin in Deventer, Netherlands on January 15, 2027. The band is known for its distinctive blend of jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop influences, often described as “nu-jazz.” Formed in Amsterdam in the early 1990s, New Cool Collective gained prominence for revitalizing instrumental jazz with a danceable, accessible sound, incorporating elements of breakbeats and improvisation. They frequently feature a rotating cast of vocalists alongside their core instrumental lineup.

The Burgerweeshuistuin is a historical garden located in the heart of Deventer. Originally part of the Burgerweeshuis (Orphanage), founded in 1544, the garden served as a space for recreation and work for the orphanage’s residents. While the orphanage no longer functions as such, the garden remains a publicly accessible green space maintained by the municipality of Deventer. It's characterized by its mature trees, winding paths and relatively intimate setting making it a popular venue for smaller outdoor events during warmer months and increasingly utilized for cultural performances.
