The Neoclassical Ensemble of Tehran will perform at Ms Handel 2 in Halle (Saale), Germany on June 10, 2026. The ensemble specializes in performing traditional Persian classical music, often referred to as *Radif*, utilizing instruments such as the *santur*, *tar*, *kamancheh*, and *tombak*. Their performances emphasize intricate melodic improvisation (*tahrir*) within the framework of established melodic modes (*dastgah*), showcasing a sophisticated understanding of Persian musical theory and aesthetics. The ensemble aims to preserve and promote this rich cultural heritage through faithful interpretations and nuanced arrangements.

Ms Handel 2 is a relatively new concert venue located within the historic Handel House in Halle, dedicated to chamber music and intimate performances. Opened in 2018, it’s named in reference to George Frideric Handel, who was born in Halle in 1685. The space is designed to offer excellent acoustics for smaller ensembles and focuses on presenting a diverse program of early music, contemporary compositions, and cross-genre collaborations.
