NDR Bigband is a German big band renowned for its diverse repertoire encompassing jazz, swing, Latin, funk, and contemporary compositions. The ensemble frequently collaborates with international artists and is known for both faithful interpretations of classic big band arrangements and innovative original works. Established in 1948, it holds a prominent position within the North German Broadcasting (NDR) network.

The concert on June 13th, 2027 will be held at Kleiner Sendesaal des NDR in Hanover. This venue, translating to “Small Broadcasting Hall of NDR,” is a historically significant and acoustically esteemed concert hall. Originally constructed in the post-war period as part of the NWDR (Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk – predecessor to NDR), it served primarily as a broadcasting studio.

Over time, it evolved into a dedicated performance space, recognized for its intimate atmosphere and excellent sound quality suited for chamber music and jazz performances. The hall has undergone renovations to modernize its facilities while preserving its original architectural character. It regularly hosts recordings and live broadcasts alongside public concerts, maintaining its dual function as both a production and presentation space for NDR’s musical programming.
