Mwalim Daphunkee Professor will be performing at Stephen’s Lounge in Wareham, Massachusetts on August 9, 2026. Mwalim, born Reginald D. James, is a multi-instrumentalist and educator known for his unique blend of funk, jazz, soul, and world music – often described as “Global Funk.” His performances frequently incorporate elements of Ethiopian jazz, Afrobeat, and classic American soul, delivered with a focus on improvisation and audience engagement. He is also recognized for his work with the band The Cosmic Rhythm Collective and as a professor at Berklee College of Music.
