Münchner Kammerorchester, established in 1957, is renowned for its historically informed performance practice and stylistic versatility. While rooted in Baroque and Classical repertoire, the orchestra frequently performs works spanning from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions, often characterized by clarity of texture, refined phrasing, and a chamber music-like approach even in larger orchestral works. They are known for collaborations with leading soloists and a commitment to exploring diverse musical perspectives.

The concert on January 28, 2027, will be held at the Prinzregententheater in Munich. Constructed between 1900 and 1903 under Ludwig II’s successor, Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria, the theater was intended as a venue for the Bavarian State Opera during renovations of the Nationaltheater. Its architectural style reflects a blend of Art Nouveau and Baroque influences.

Following damage during World War II, the Prinzregententheater underwent extensive reconstruction and reopened in 1963. Today it functions as an independent theatre primarily hosting opera, ballet, concerts and theatrical performances; it is noted for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere – seating approximately 1400 people.
