Moreish Idols, a musical project spearheaded by James Weaver, crafts atmospheric and experimental post-punk informed by krautrock, dub, and art-pop sensibilities. Their sound is characterized by driving rhythms, hypnotic basslines, and Weaver’s distinctive vocal delivery, often incorporating elements of spoken word. The project has released albums on labels including Chocolate Milk and Untzz.

Le Chinois is a performance space and bar located in Montreuil-sur-Mer, Pas-de-Calais, France. Originally a Chinese restaurant – hence the name which translates to “The Chinese” – it was repurposed in the early 2010s into a venue focusing on underground and alternative music. It’s known for its intimate setting and support of emerging artists across genres like experimental electronic music, noise, and independent rock. Le Chinois frequently hosts both local French acts and international touring musicians. The venue has become a recognized fixture within the regional independent music scene due to its consistent programming and dedication to showcasing less mainstream sounds. It maintains a deliberately raw aesthetic reflecting its origins as a simple eatery. Moreish Idols is scheduled to perform at Le Chinois on November 7th, 2026.
