Monsieur Periné, a Colombian band, will be performing at Outset in Chicago, Illinois on September 24, 2026. Their musical style is often described as a blend of gypsy jazz, Latin American rhythms – particularly cumbia and bolero – and French chanson influences. The group frequently incorporates elements of swing and acoustic instrumentation, creating a sound that is both vintage-inspired and contemporary. Formed in Bogotá in 2015, Monsieur Periné has gained international recognition for their unique sound and energetic live performances, earning a Latin Grammy Award in 2017 for Best New Artist.

Outset is a relatively new performance venue located in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. Opened in 2023, it was conceived by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy as a listening room prioritizing high-quality sound and an intimate atmosphere. The venue’s design intentionally minimizes distractions, focusing attention on the artists and the music itself. It features a capacity of approximately 180 people seated, aiming to provide an immersive experience for both performers and audience members. Outset is intended to be a space dedicated to diverse musical genres with an emphasis on thoughtful curation rather than large-scale events.
