Monsieur Periné is a Colombian band known for blending Latin American rhythms – particularly cumbia, bolero, and son cubano – with jazz influences and elements of French chanson. Their sound frequently incorporates acoustic instrumentation, intricate arrangements, and the distinctive vocals of Catalina García. Formed in Bogotá in 2007, the group gained international recognition after winning the Grand Prize at the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest in 2010. They have since released several critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively across North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
Cleveland, Ohio possesses a rich musical history. It was a significant center for the development of rock and roll in the 1950s, largely due to Alan Freed, a disc jockey credited with popularizing the term “rock and roll” while broadcasting from Cleveland radio stations. The city is also home to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, established in 1995, which celebrates the history of the genre and its influential artists. Cleveland’s Severance Hall is renowned for its acoustics and is home to the Cleveland Orchestra, consistently ranked among the world’s best. The city's performing arts scene continues to thrive with numerous venues hosting diverse musical performances.
