Classical Concerts in Minneapolis

Experience Minnesota Orchestra live on October 31st

The Minnesota Orchestra, renowned for its vibrant sound and commitment to both traditional repertoire and contemporary works, will perform at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis on October 31, 2026. The ensemble’s musical style is characterized by a rich string tone and a flexible approach to interpretation, encompassing performances spanning the Baroque period through 21st-century compositions. Historically, the orchestra has been recognized for its strong community engagement and numerous recordings, including a distinguished history with the Sony Classical label.

Orchestra Hall, completed in 1974, serves as the primary performance venue for the Minnesota Orchestra. Designed by architect Leo A. Daly, the hall is noted for its acoustics which were significantly renovated and improved in 2013-2014. These renovations addressed concerns about reverberation and clarity, aiming to enhance the listening experience for both performers and audience members. The hall’s design incorporates elements intended to create an intimate atmosphere despite its relatively large capacity of approximately 2,600 seats. It stands as a landmark building within the cultural landscape of downtown Minneapolis and has hosted a wide range of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists throughout its history.
