Ministry of Sound is scheduled to present a concert at Hitchin Priory on August 30th, 2026. The organization is internationally recognised for its contribution to dance music culture, primarily focusing on house, trance, techno, and drum and bass genres. Originating as a nightclub in London in 1991, Ministry of Sound expanded to become a record label, events promoter, and global brand synonymous with electronic dance music.

Hitchin Priory itself holds significant historical importance. Originally founded as a Benedictine priory in 1318 by Lady Elizabeth de Clare, it operated until the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1538 under the reign of Henry VIII. The site subsequently transitioned into a private residence and underwent various architectural modifications over the centuries. Today, Hitchin Priory functions as a hotel and wedding venue, retaining substantial portions of its original medieval structure including remnants of the cloisters and gatehouse. The grounds are notable for their landscaped gardens and historical setting within the town of Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The event will utilise the Priory’s outdoor spaces for the concert presentation.
