The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Melbourne Recital Centre on October 31, 2026. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is renowned for its broad repertoire encompassing classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, and innovative cross-genre collaborations. Established in 1906, the orchestra has a history of commissioning Australian works and fostering local talent alongside internationally acclaimed soloists and conductors. Their performances are characterized by a commitment to artistic excellence and engaging audiences with diverse musical experiences.

The Melbourne Recital Centre, opened in 2009, is a purpose-built performance venue dedicated to music. Designed by architects Ashton Raggatt McDougall, the building’s striking exterior features a patterned facade inspired by musical notation. The Centre houses three primary performance spaces: the Premier Hall, the Salon, and the intimate Primrose Potter Salon. It was specifically created to address a need for a high-quality acoustic environment tailored for chamber music, recital performances and smaller orchestral ensembles; however it is also capable of hosting larger orchestral performances such as those undertaken by the MSO. The venue aims to support both established and emerging artists across various musical genres.
