Emerging from the Staple Singers family group, she developed a powerful vocal style deeply rooted in the Black church tradition while incorporating messages of social justice and hope. Payomet Performing Arts Center is an outdoor venue established in 2008. It’s uniquely situated within the Cape Cod National Seashore, utilizing a large circus tent as its performance space.
