Mark O’Connor will perform at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona on October 29, 2026. O’Connor is a highly regarded violinist, composer, and educator known for his innovative approach to American roots music. His style blends elements of bluegrass, jazz, country, and classical music, often incorporating improvisation and pushing the boundaries of traditional violin playing. He is credited with pioneering the “New Acoustic” movement in the 1970s and 80s and has collaborated with artists across numerous genres. O’Connor has also composed extensively for orchestra and chamber ensembles, including concertos and film scores.

The Mesa Arts Center opened in 1986 and serves as a multi-disciplinary arts venue for the City of Mesa. It comprises multiple theaters and art spaces, including the largest venue, the Ikeda Theater, where O'Connor is scheduled to perform. The center hosts a diverse range of performances annually – from Broadway shows and concerts to dance performances and visual art exhibitions – aiming to serve a broad audience within the East Valley region of Phoenix. It underwent significant expansion in 2018 adding new performance spaces and galleries designed to enhance accessibility & artistic offerings.
