Marcos Valle will be performing at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle, Washington on July 30, 2026. Valle is a Brazilian musician, composer, arranger and producer whose work blends samba, bossa nova, funk, and jazz influences. Emerging in the 1960s, he became a prominent figure in the *Tropicalismo* movement – a Brazilian artistic movement that challenged conventional cultural norms – though his style ultimately developed into a distinct fusion often characterized by sophisticated harmonies, infectious grooves and melodic vocals. He gained international recognition with songs like “Estação Primeira de Mangueira” and later through sampling of his work within the acid jazz and broken beat scenes of the 1990s.

The Neptune Theatre originally opened in 1921 as a vaudeville house. Throughout its history it operated as both a movie palace and a performance venue hosting diverse acts including musical performances, theatrical productions and film screenings. The building underwent significant restoration in the early 2000s led by Historic Seattle Restoration Project and reopened as a fully functioning theatre dedicated to live performance.
