Jericho Beach Park is a 9.5-hectare (23.5-acre) park located at the westernmost point of Point Grey in Vancouver. Established in 1950, the park features a sandy beach along English Bay and offers views of the North Shore Mountains. Historically, the area was a traditional gathering place for the Squamish Nation, known as Xwesxwáyem to them. The park’s development included the construction of picnic shelters and recreational facilities throughout the mid-20th century and continues to be a popular destination for swimming, sunbathing, picnics, and various water sports. It also hosts community events throughout the year. The park is managed by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation.
