The Louisville Orchestra will perform at the Ogle Center at IU Southeast in New Albany, Indiana on November 20, 2026. The Louisville Orchestra, founded in 1934, is Kentucky’s premier professional orchestra, recognized for its commitment to both standard orchestral repertoire and contemporary works. Historically, the orchestra has been known for commissioning new pieces and fostering American composers, notably through its First Edition series. Its musical style encompasses a broad range of periods and genres, from Baroque and Classical to Romantic and 21st-century compositions.
The Ogle Center at IU Southeast opened in 2004 as a significant cultural resource for the region. Designed by architect Murphy/Jahn, it is notable for its architectural features and acoustic design intended for high-quality performance experiences. The venue serves as the primary performance space for Indiana University Southeast’s music programs and hosts a variety of regional and national touring acts alongside local presentations. It features a main performance hall with approximately 1,500 seats and is designed to accommodate diverse artistic disciplines including orchestral performances, theatre, dance, and lectures. The Center aims to provide accessible arts experiences to the Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville communities.
