Loh-Orchester Sondershausen, a professional orchestra with roots stretching back to 1788 as the Hoftheater Orchester, will perform at Theater Im Anbau in Nordhausen on March 20, 2027. The orchestra’s repertoire traditionally centers on orchestral standard works from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, alongside contemporary compositions; it is particularly renowned for its interpretations of German Romantic composers. They maintain a focus on serving the Thuringian region through diverse concert programs.

Theater Im Anbau is a historically significant venue located adjacent to the Nordhäuser Kulturhaus. Originally constructed in 1900 as a brewery extension – hence “Im Anbau” meaning “in the extension” – it was repurposed in 1976 as a stage for the Nordhäuser Theater. Following extensive renovations completed in 2018, it now functions as a modern performance space retaining elements of its industrial past. The building's architecture blends historical brickwork with contemporary design elements, offering an intimate setting for performances. It primarily hosts theatrical productions, concerts and other cultural events. The venue is managed by the Stadt Nordhausen (City of Nordhausen).
