Loh-Orchester Sondershausen, a German orchestra with roots stretching back to 1788 as the “Fürstliche Hofmusik,” will perform at Theater Im Anbau in Nordhausen on January 24, 2027. The orchestra historically specializes in orchestral works from the Baroque, Classical, and early Romantic periods, with a particular emphasis on composers connected to the Thuringian region. Theater Im Anbau is a modern performance space situated within the grounds of the Nordhausen railway station. Originally constructed as a repair workshop for locomotives in 1914, it underwent extensive renovation and conversion beginning in 2016 to become a cultural venue. The building's industrial heritage is deliberately preserved in its architecture, creating a unique atmosphere that contrasts with traditional theatre buildings.
