Experience LMZG live on June 21st
LMZG, a musical project originating from Lyon, France, will perform as part of the Fête De La Musique celebrations in Mâcon on June 21st, 2026. Their music blends elements of jazz, funk, and electronic music, often incorporating improvisation and extended instrumental passages. The group is known for energetic live performances and a dynamic sound that draws from both contemporary and classic influences within those genres.
Fête De La Musique, translating to “Music Day,” originated in France in 1982 as a nationwide celebration occurring annually on the summer solstice – June 21st. Initiated by then-French Minister of Culture Jack Lang, the event was conceived to encourage free musical practice and expression. A core principle remains that all musicians are amateurs or professionals performing for free; no fees are charged to performers or audiences.
The festival quickly spread internationally and is now celebrated in over 120 countries. In Mâcon, as in many French cities, the Fête De La Musique typically involves numerous performances taking place across public spaces – streets, parks, squares – creating a city-wide atmosphere of musical diversity.
