Lido Pimienta is a Colombian-Canadian musician and producer whose work blends traditional Afro-Colombian rhythms, electronic music, and experimental soundscapes. Her music often incorporates elements of bullerengue, cumbia, and guacharaca alongside synthesizers and sampling, frequently addressing themes of Afro-feminism, political resistance, and personal narrative. Pimienta gained significant recognition following her 2017 Polaris Music Prize nomination for her album *Motion*. She subsequently won the prize in 2020 for *Miss Colombia*, becoming the first Black woman and artist of Colombian descent to receive the award.

Neumos, the venue hosting the performance, is a prominent independent music club located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Established in 2002, it’s known for its intimate setting and focus on showcasing diverse musical acts spanning indie rock, electronic, hip-hop, and world music. The venue features a main room with a capacity of approximately 600 people as well as a smaller bar area that hosts more intimate performances. Neumos has hosted numerous nationally and internationally recognized artists throughout its history and is considered a key component of Seattle's live music scene.
