Experience Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations live on December 12th
Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations, an ensemble founded by Jordi Savall, specializes in historically informed performance practice, primarily focusing on music from the Baroque and Classical periods. The group distinguishes itself through the use of period instruments and a commitment to scholarly research regarding performance techniques of the 17th to early 19th centuries. Their interpretations aim for authenticity in sound and style, often reviving lesser-known works alongside established repertoire. The ensemble is comprised exclusively of female musicians.
The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a major concert hall inaugurated in January 2015. Located in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, it is designed by architect Jean Nouvel and represents a significant investment in France’s musical infrastructure. The complex features two primary concert venues: the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez, known for its adjustable acoustics and seating capacity of approximately 2,400; and the smaller Salle de Découvertes, dedicated to educational programs and experimental music. Philharmonie de Paris aims to be a comprehensive center for musical creation, education, and performance, hosting a diverse range of classical music, contemporary works and cross-genre collaborations.
