Le Consort is a French ensemble specializing in the performance of early music, particularly vocal and instrumental works from the 16th to 18th centuries. Their repertoire focuses heavily on French Baroque composers like Marc-Antoine Charpentier and François Couperin, but also extends to include Italian and English pieces of the period. The ensemble is known for its historically informed performance practice, utilizing instruments and vocal techniques appropriate to the era, and for its refined, expressive interpretations. They frequently perform sacred music as well as secular cantatas and chamber music.
The Philharmonie de Paris, inaugurated in January 2015, is a major concert venue located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, it is notable for its modern architectural design featuring a metallic cloud-like structure above the main concert hall, *La Grande Salle*. The complex houses several performance spaces including *La Grande Salle* (approximately 2,400 seats), a smaller chamber music hall (*Salle de Debussy*), an amphitheater, and rehearsal rooms. It serves as a hub for classical music, jazz, and contemporary music performances and aims to be accessible to a wide audience through educational programs and outreach initiatives.
