Experience Le Concert des Nations live on March 23rd
Le Concert des Nations, founded by Jordi Savall in 1987, is a French period instrument orchestra specializing in historically informed performance practice. The ensemble focuses primarily on Baroque and Classical repertoire, striving for authenticity through meticulous research into performance techniques, instrumentation, and ornamentation of the 17th and 18th centuries. Their interpretations aim to recreate the sound world composers originally intended, often utilizing sources like original manuscripts and treatises.
The performance will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a prominent concert hall inaugurated in January 2015. Situated in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, it is a major cultural institution designed by architect Jean Nouvel. The complex comprises a large concert hall (“Grande Salle Philharmonie”) renowned for its acoustics and modular design, as well as smaller spaces dedicated to chamber music, educational activities and exhibitions.
Philharmonie de Paris represents France’s first purpose-built concert hall dedicated to acoustic music and aims to be a national center for musical creation and education. It hosts a diverse range of performances encompassing classical music, contemporary works, jazz and world music.
