Experience Le Concert des Nations live on October 23rd
Le Concert des Nations, founded in 1987 by Jordi Savall, is a French period instrument orchestra specializing in historically informed performance practice, primarily focusing on Baroque and Classical era music. The ensemble aims to recreate the sound worlds of composers like Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven using instruments and performance techniques authentic to the time the music was originally created. Their interpretations are known for their vitality, rhythmic precision, and expressive nuance derived from extensive research into historical sources.
The performance will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a major concert venue inaugurated in January 2015. Situated in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, it is designed to be a universal space dedicated to all musical genres. The complex comprises a large concert hall ("Grande Salle") with a capacity of approximately 2,400 seats renowned for its acoustics; a smaller, more intimate chamber music hall ("Studio"); and several rehearsal spaces.
Philharmonie de Paris is not simply a performance space but also houses a museum dedicated to musical instruments ("Musée de la Musique") and offers educational programs.
