Jazz Concerts in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Experience Laurent Coulondre live on July 18th

Laurent Coulondre will perform at the Site archéologique de Glanum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France on July 18, 2026. Coulondre is a French composer and musician known for his atmospheric and largely instrumental music, often described as a blend of electronic, ambient, and world music influences. His compositions frequently incorporate field recordings and textural soundscapes, creating immersive sonic experiences. He often utilizes synthesizers, guitars, and various acoustic instruments within his work.

The Site archéologique de Glanum represents the well-preserved remains of an ancient city founded by the Salluvii, a Gallic tribe, around the 1st century BC. Later becoming a Roman city following Julius Caesar’s campaigns, Glanum flourished under Roman rule before being gradually abandoned in the 3rd century AD. Significant archaeological discoveries began in the early 20th century, revealing substantial architectural remains including temples dedicated to Roman deities – notably to imperial worship – residential areas, shops and a notable triumphal arch. The site provides valuable insight into the interaction between Gallic and Roman cultures during antiquity and its setting amongst olive groves contributes to its unique character.
