Laufey, born Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir, is an Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter gaining prominence for her jazz-influenced bedroom pop. This multi-purpose indoor arena, commonly known as “El Palacio de los Deportes,” opened in 1968 and was originally constructed to host the basketball events during the 1968 Summer Olympics. It underwent substantial renovations completed in 2012 which modernized facilities while retaining its historical significance as a landmark venue within Mexico City. The arena has a seating capacity of approximately 15,000-20,000 depending on event configuration. It remains one of the largest indoor arenas in Mexico.
