Lambchop, the Nashville-based musical project led by Kurt Wagner, will perform at Theatro Circo in Braga, Portugal on November 21, 2026. Lambchop’s music is often described as a blend of slowcore, country soul, and experimental electronic elements. Characterized by Wagner’s distinctively laconic vocal delivery and arrangements incorporating strings, brass, and subtle electronic textures, their sound has evolved considerably since forming in the early 1990s. Initial releases were largely acoustic, gradually incorporating more diverse instrumentation and production techniques.

Theatro Circo itself holds a significant place in Braga’s cultural landscape. Originally constructed in 1915 as a multi-purpose venue – hosting circuses, theatre performances, and even bullfights – it underwent substantial renovations in the 2000s. These renovations aimed to restore its original architectural features while modernizing its facilities for contemporary performing arts. Today it functions primarily as a performance space for a wide range of events including theatre, dance, music concerts and other cultural presentations. The building showcases a blend of architectural styles reflective of its history and subsequent modifications.
