Lambchop, the Nashville-based musical project led by Kurt Wagner, will perform at the Markgrafentheater Erlangen on February 14, 2027. The group is known for its distinctive blend of slowcore, country, and experimental electronic music, often characterized by Wagner’s understated vocals, lush orchestral arrangements – frequently incorporating strings and horns – and a generally melancholic atmosphere. Over their decades-long career, Lambchop has evolved through various sonic iterations while maintaining a core aesthetic of subtly innovative and emotionally resonant compositions.

The Markgrafentheater Erlangen is a historically significant venue in the Bavarian city. Originally constructed in 1871 and renovated multiple times since, it serves as a multi-purpose cultural center. The theatre’s architecture reflects late 19th-century historicism with neo-Renaissance elements. It hosts a diverse program encompassing theatre productions (including those of the Stadttheater Erlangen), concerts spanning classical to contemporary genres, dance performances, and other events. The theatre underwent substantial modernization in the early 2000s which improved both audience facilities and stage technology while preserving its historical character.
