Krzysztof Urbański will conduct a concert at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich on January 20, 2027. Urbański is a Polish conductor known for his versatile repertoire spanning classical and contemporary works, often characterized by a dynamic and insightful approach to interpretation. He frequently champions lesser-known composers alongside established masters, and is noted for his compelling performances of Romantic and 20th/21st-century music, as well as opera. He currently serves as the Chief Conductor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and holds the position of Artistic Partner with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

The Isarphilharmonie, opened in 2021, is a modern concert hall located in the Gasteig cultural complex in Munich. It replaced the original Gasteig concert halls which were closed for renovation. Designed by architects Henning Larsen, it boasts a main hall with approximately 1,900 seats renowned for its acoustics and flexible design allowing for varied stage configurations. The hall is intended to be a multi-purpose venue accommodating orchestral concerts, chamber music performances, and other events.
