KI, the musical project of Danish artist Johannes Hoffmeister, will perform at Hotel Cecil in Copenhagen on December 12, 2026. KI’s music is generally described as atmospheric electronic music, often incorporating elements of ambient, techno, and IDM (Intelligent Dance Music). Characterized by intricate sound design and emotive melodies, his work frequently explores themes of memory, nostalgia and the interplay between organic and synthetic sounds. Hoffmeister initially gained recognition for his work within the experimental electronic music scene in Denmark before establishing KI as a distinct artistic identity.

Hotel Cecil, located centrally in Copenhagen, has a long and notable history as a cultural venue. Originally opened as a hotel in 1903, it transitioned into a significant hub for alternative and independent music during the 1960s and 70s. Throughout its existence it has hosted numerous performances by both established and emerging artists across various genres. The venue is known for its intimate setting and distinctive architectural features reflective of its early 20th-century origins. In recent years it has continued to operate as a performance space while retaining its historic character.
