The Drake, located in Amherst, Massachusetts, is a historic venue with roots stretching back to 1936 when it opened as a dance hall. Originally built by local businessman George “Dutch” Drake, it quickly became a popular spot for big band music and social gatherings. Over the decades, The Drake transitioned through various iterations including periods as a roller skating rink and a restaurant before being revitalized as a dedicated music venue.

Currently owned by Amherst College, The Drake continues to host a diverse range of musical acts while retaining much of its original architectural character.
