Joshua Redman is scheduled to perform at the Otis A. Singletary Center For The Arts in Lexington, Kentucky on October 15, 2026. Redman is a highly acclaimed jazz saxophonist known for his lyrical improvisation and compositions that blend elements of hard bop, modal jazz, and contemporary influences. He gained prominence after winning the 1991 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition and has since released numerous recordings as a leader, often exploring themes of personal narrative within a jazz context. His work frequently features both original compositions and interpretations of classic jazz standards.

The Otis A. Singletary Center For The Arts serves as the primary performance venue for the University of Kentucky’s fine arts programs. Opened in 1988, the center houses three performance spaces: the main Singletary Hall, capable of seating over 1,500 patrons; the smaller, more intimate Recital Hall; and the Black Box Theatre used for experimental works.
