Glynde Place is a Grade II listed country house situated in the village of Glynde, East Sussex. Originally built in the 1560s by Sir George Strickland, it underwent significant alterations in the 18th century under the ownership of Richard Shuttleworth, who employed architect James Wyatt to remodel the house in a Palladian style. The estate is notable for its landscaped parkland designed by Capability Brown, and its historical association with the Shuttleworth family who were patrons of the arts and sciences.
Throughout its history Glynde Place has served primarily as a private residence but has occasionally opened its grounds for public events. The location offers a unique setting due to its architectural heritage and expansive outdoor spaces within the South Downs National Park. The house itself remains privately owned.
