Isaiah Sharkey, a contemporary jazz saxophonist and composer, will be performing at the Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis on July 25, 2026. Sharkey’s music is characterized by a blend of hard bop tradition with modern harmonic concepts and rhythmic complexity, often incorporating elements of post-bop and soul jazz. He is known for his virtuosic technique and compelling improvisational skills, having released several albums as a leader and collaborated with prominent figures in the jazz world.

The Jazz Kitchen, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, has been a dedicated jazz and blues venue since its establishment in 1994. Originally founded by David Baker, an internationally recognized jazz educator and performer at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), the venue quickly became a cornerstone of the city’s music scene. It has hosted numerous nationally and internationally acclaimed artists throughout its history. The space features a supper club atmosphere offering dining alongside live performances. Following a temporary closure and relocation in 2020, it reopened at its current location on College Avenue continuing its commitment to live music presentation.
