Experience Isabelle Faust live on September 2nd
Isabelle Faust is a German violinist renowned for her historically informed performances and interpretations of both standard repertoire and lesser-known works. Her playing is characterized by clarity, precision, and a distinctive tonal palette, often employing period instruments or historically appropriate setups to illuminate the composer’s original intentions. She frequently engages with composers like Bach, Beethoven, and Bartók, but also champions contemporary composers and explores connections between different musical eras.
The concert will take place at the Kultur- und Kongreßzentrum Luzern (KKL) Konzertsaal in Lucerne, Switzerland. Opened in 1998, the KKL was designed by Jean Nouvel and is celebrated for its acoustics, largely due to the work of acoustician Russell Johnson. The Konzertsaal itself is the larger of two halls within the KKL complex and is known for its vineyard-style seating arrangement which surrounds the stage. It quickly established itself as a significant venue for classical music performances following its opening, hosting numerous internationally acclaimed orchestras and soloists. The building's distinctive architecture, incorporating glass and reflecting light from Lake Lucerne, has also made it a landmark structure in the city.
