Experience Isabelle Faust live on October 16th
Isabelle Faust is a German violinist renowned for her historically informed performances and interpretations of both standard repertoire and lesser-known works. Her playing is characterized by clarity, precision, and a focus on revealing the structural and expressive qualities of the music, often utilizing period instruments or historically appropriate set-ups for modern instruments. She frequently engages with composers directly, commissioning new works and exploring unconventional approaches to performance practice.
The concert on October 16, 2026, will take place at the Herkulessaal in Munich. This hall resides within the Residenz, the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. Originally constructed between 1751 and 1753 under Maximilian III Joseph as a gallery for courtly celebrations and musical performances, it was designed by François Cuvilliés the Elder in the Rococo style. Significant renovations occurred in the late 20th century following damage during World War II, restoring much of its original ornamentation including stucco work and frescoes. The Herkulessaal is now considered one of Munich’s premier concert venues, celebrated for its exceptional acoustics and opulent interior; it regularly hosts orchestral concerts and chamber music performances.
