The band blends elements of psychedelic rock, funk, and soul with traditional Indigenous American instrumentation and lyrical themes. Their sound often incorporates flute, percussion, and vocal styles reflecting their Native American heritage, specifically drawing from the musical traditions of the Pomo Nation of Northern California where band members originate.

Yerba Buena Gardens is a two-block cultural complex located in the SoMa district of San Francisco. Developed in the 1980s as part of a larger redevelopment project, it was built on a former parking lot and aims to revitalize the area while providing public space. The Gardens feature a performance lawn, a children’s garden, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. It frequently hosts concerts, festivals, and community events. The site also holds historical significance as it was once a neighborhood predominantly inhabited by Filipino Americans; remnants of this history are acknowledged within the gardens’ design and programming. The gardens are managed by the City and County of San Francisco through the Recreation and Park Department.
