Immanuel Wilkins, an American saxophonist and composer, will perform as part of the 2026 Pisa Jazz Festival program. Wilkins is recognized for his innovative approach to jazz, often described as a continuation of the post-bop tradition infused with elements of spiritual jazz and contemporary improvisation. His compositions frequently explore themes of Black American history and identity, characterized by complex harmonies, dynamic rhythmic interplay, and intensely expressive soloing. He gained prominence with his 2020 debut album *Omega*, earning widespread critical acclaim.

The Pisa Jazz Festival, established in 1973, is an annual event held in various locations throughout the city of Pisa, Italy. The festival has a long history of showcasing both established international jazz artists and emerging talents.
