Hermon Chapel Arts Centre is housed within a former Independent (Congregational) chapel originally built in 1862. The building underwent significant renovation following its closure as a place of worship in 2013 to transform it into a multi-arts venue. The restoration aimed to preserve the chapel's original architectural features, including its stained glass windows and ornate ceiling, while adapting the space for performances and exhibitions.

The centre now functions as a community arts hub offering a diverse programme of events encompassing music, theatre, visual arts, and film. Its acoustics are noted as being particularly suited to chamber music and solo instrumental performances due to the building’s inherent resonance and careful acoustic adjustments made during the refurbishment. It serves both as a performance space and gallery.
