The Continental Club, established in 1955, holds a significant place in Austin’s musical history. Originally a burlesque club, it transitioned into a live music venue in the early 1960s and quickly became central to the development of the city’s thriving music scene. Throughout its history, The Continental Club has hosted a diverse range of artists spanning genres including rockabilly, country, blues, and rock & roll. It’s recognized for its intimate setting and historic atmosphere – maintaining much of its original mid-century décor – and has been designated a Texas Historic Landmark.
