Formed in 1996 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Hot 8 Brass Band initially emerged as a youth project aimed at providing positive outlets for young people in the city’s 8th Ward, hence the name. Howlin’ Wolf is a well-known music venue located in the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans. Originally opened in 1989 as a smaller club called Tipitina’s Frenchmen Street outpost, it was later acquired and rebranded as Howlin' Wolf in 2004.
