Kulturzentrum Schlachthof in Bremen is a historically significant venue originally constructed as a slaughterhouse – hence the name, translating to “Slaughterhouse Cultural Center.” Established in 1986, it transitioned from its industrial purpose into a multifaceted cultural space focusing on alternative and independent arts. The Schlachthof hosts a diverse program encompassing concerts (spanning genres like jazz, rock, punk, and experimental music), theatre performances, exhibitions, film screenings and club nights. It’s recognized for its raw aesthetic reflecting its industrial past and commitment to supporting emerging artists alongside established names.
