Harry Connick, Jr. is a multi-talented American singer, pianist, and actor known for his work in jazz, big band, pop, and film soundtracks. Emerging in the late 1980s, he gained prominence with his interpretations of classic American standards and original compositions blending traditional jazz instrumentation with contemporary arrangements. His musical style often incorporates elements of New Orleans jazz, reflecting his upbringing in that city. He has released numerous albums achieving both critical acclaim and commercial success throughout his career.
The Peace Center is a performing arts center located in Greenville, South Carolina. Opened in 1988, it serves as the Upstate’s premier cultural venue. The complex comprises three performance spaces: the 2,100-seat Symphony Hall, primarily used for Broadway shows, concerts and orchestral performances; the 300-seat Gunter Theatre which hosts plays and smaller performances; and the Hughes Main Street Theatre which provides space for more intimate events.
The Peace Center was conceived as a key component of Greenville’s downtown revitalization efforts and has since hosted a wide array of national and international touring productions across various disciplines including dance, opera, comedy and music.
