Grateful Shred is scheduled to perform at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania on November 1, 2026. The band delivers a unique musical experience characterized by high-energy performances and instrumental interpretations of Grateful Dead songbook classics, blended with elements of progressive rock, jam band improvisation, and electronic dance music. Often described as “Dead meets Daft Punk,” they utilize synthesizers and a driving beat alongside the traditional Grateful Dead instrumentation.

Mr. Smalls Theatre is a historic venue located in Millvale, just outside of Pittsburgh. Originally constructed in 1928 as a movie theatre named the Rialto, it operated as such for several decades before falling into disrepair. It was later renovated and reopened as a live music venue in 2004 by a group of local residents determined to revitalize the space and the surrounding community. The theatre maintains much of its original Art Deco architecture and features a relatively intimate capacity of approximately 500 standing and 800 seated attendees. It’s known for hosting a diverse range of national and regional acts across multiple genres, fostering a reputation as a cornerstone of the Pittsburgh music scene.
