The Glenn Miller Orchestra is scheduled to perform at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Avon, Colorado, on July 19, 2026. The orchestra is renowned for its performances of classic big band jazz from the 1930s and 40s, a style characterized by tight arrangements, prominent brass sections, and a danceable swing rhythm. Originally led by trombonist and composer Glenn Miller, the orchestra achieved immense popularity during World War II with hits like "In the Mood," "Moonlight Serenade," and "Chattanooga Choo Choo." Following Miller’s disappearance in 1944, the orchestra was reconstituted and continues to tour today, maintaining the original arrangements and spirit of Miller's music.

The Vilar Performing Arts Center opened in December 2002 as part of the Beaver Creek Resort complex. Designed by renowned architect Norman Pfeiffer, it’s known for its intimate setting and excellent acoustics. The venue hosts a diverse range of performances including Broadway shows, concerts (spanning classical to contemporary genres), dance performances, and film screenings.
