Giorgi Gigashvili, a Georgian pianist recognized for his deeply expressive interpretations and technically brilliant performances, will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on November 6, 2026. His repertoire spans a broad range, encompassing works from the classical canon alongside compositions by contemporary composers, often characterized by a lyrical quality and nuanced dynamic control. The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – it has quickly become a landmark of Hamburg and internationally renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, the building’s striking glass façade is intended to evoke images of waves and sails, reflecting Hamburg’s maritime history. The Grand Hall, where Gigashvili will perform, features a vineyard-style seating arrangement surrounding the stage, designed to optimize sound distribution for every listener.
